Beyond the card

Abyssal monsters have an indescribably horrific form. These demonic creatures were encountered during the Oniyx expedition — a horrifying venture into the depths of the temple of Zaar'Phahl in Shal'Zaar. The group's progress through the Abyss was grueling. Some members saw their belongings and provisions stolen — resources essential to their survival. At laughter that seemed to come from every direction, the invisible creature reveled in the situation; some scattered belongings, however, seemed to leave it uninterested. The journey grew ever more horrifying as hunger increased. Some began to eat what they never should have, continuing to feed the morbid curiosity of their stalker. The story of the Nakyel is told in Shal'Zaar to remind that curiosity is a nasty flaw.
