The many deposits of Poison Gas in the Blazing Sea turned its depths black as oil. Without the introduction of Scorch to Dragheïr, the pollution would have spread and rendered the forge unusable. During their pilgrimages, young people from Nordvinter sometimes encounter a mound of putrid flesh and rock soaked in a viscous substance. These many-polyped creatures cannot move. Mindless and carried by the winds, they pose no direct threat to the city. Abyssal Galleys nevertheless represent a grave danger to anyone crossing the Blazing Sea.
