While the world has not necessarily regained its elemental balance, the activity of civilizations and their impact on the environment sometimes produce consequences one would rather have avoided. The Great Penguin is a highly intelligent species from Nordvinter, able to utter a few words, or even sentences. During the construction of Dragheïr, these creatures became local mascots, much loved by the youngest. However, they are extremely sensitive to elemental imbalance... Sometimes, Great Penguins born with a slight affinity for Fire find themselves corrupted by the miasma of Hadeïr. They are then called Lava Penguins. The story of the very first Lava Penguin is a most tragic one. Although his family was among the best-known Great Penguins of Dragheïr, he changed his behavior overnight, infected by the corruption without any warning. He took pleasure in burning everything in his path... Even his family and his memories. This episode raised awareness of the danger of contamination by the corruption and led to a tightening of the city's safety rules.
